Could this be the rear differential?

When I accelerate slowly, it’s fine, but when I hit full throttle, it starts grinding.

I don’t feel like I’m getting all my power, and I’ve tried recording the sound.

I’ve checked the spur and pinion gears, and they seem fine. If I lift the front end, the same grinding sound occurs.
