I need a couple yards or soil for new raised beds, and McFarlane’s and Portland Rock & Landscape supply are about equally close to me. Anyone have experience with their soils and have an opinion on which is preferable? McFarlane’s Scottish blend seems like it may require quite a bit of amendment for good results, but is about $15 a yard cheaper than the Premium Planting mix from Portland Rock, which sounds like it would be fine to plant straight into. Any experience or other recommendations? Thanks!
