Spent $35 at Chipotle, didn’t get any food, refunded with coupons I can only use one at a time.

Last week I ordered Chipotle AND tipped $5 on a $30 pickup order. I got there 10 minutes after the pickup time and there was a cluster of several people standing around looking angry. No food was coming out.

I then stood there for 15 minutes with no one making pickup orders and the employees on the regular line not making eye contact with us. There were several made or mostly made burrito bowls just sitting open on the pickup make table the whole 15 minutes with no heat. Employees started screaming out to the regular line what they were out of, which included all chips that I’d ordered x2. At that point I finally walked out having never even been looked at.

I then spent 20 minutes on support chat in my car trying to get a refund. Every 30 seconds or so it would say “live agent is typing” but they never said anything. 20 minutes just watching that they were “typing”.

I then emailed support and a few days later they finally got back to me and said that because $20 of the $35 I paid with tip was from a gift card they couldn’t give me a refund at all. So they added all 4 items I ordered as rewards to my account.

That slightly annoyed me as I’ll be guilted into tipping again Even though I got nothing for my first tip.

Today, I went to cash in on my items and I can only use 1 of the 4 at a time. And they expire in 3 weeks. So I’ll need to order Chipotle 4 times, spending another $90 with them in the next 3 weeks, just to get the order I paid for last week.

How did every company get so bad? We just take it and take it.
