Background: 45M, decent middle distance runner in high school (4:32 mile sophmore year), got injured, didn't run for over 25 years, started up again August 2024, ran 1st marathon (Marine Corps) in October 2025 (3:37) with only 3-4 days of running per week due to constant injuries. Came across NSM, have been working it since January with really great results.

Sorry for the brain dump. Ran a 1:29:54 HM today and will be running Richmond in November. I was hoping to get my HM down to 1:30 by October, so now I get to move the goalposts which is awesome. Will continue with NSM through the summer and work the Marathon block this fall.

My question is simple. Is a sub-3:10 marathon in November really a realistic goal? Never would have dreamed it as a possibility but now I'm think a BQ is a real possibility if i can stay healthy. Am I being realistic or just still high from today's race?
