This was a little experimental thing I made and still use every now and then! i channeled my inner kid desire of wanting one of those faux fur tails that were popular in the 2000s and 2010s. I've seen tutorials for brushed yarn tails but a lot of them involved cutting up yarn into pieces, tying it together, and then brushing it out. I went a different direction with this one!

i essentially crocheted loop stitch circles of increasing sizes, cut them, brushed the strands out, and strung them along a central length of yarn. this is the end result! it's not the prettiest and i would def make tweaks to it if i were to do it again. The texture of the brushed out yarn isn't great either as it gets matted easily and feels rough. visually however, it def gets the job done! :3

Astrophytum myriostigma cv. 'Puff Bonnet' on the left and cv. 'Lotusland' to the right. My guess is 'Puff Bonnet' is derived from Lotusland as many of the offsets bear resemblance to it. Gonna let them get bigger and grow longer aerial roots before seperating a few!
