Curious how riders who got error 21 rectified this?

Due to work, I left my bike unridden for almost a year in my garage, low and behold, when I got back and attempted to ride, I got this error and PAS would not work, neither would the throttle.

I’ve checked all of the connections, cleaned the connectors/connection points, and tried two different fully charged batteries.

I don’t think the motor could be shot, but I haven’t ruled it out yet. I read somewhere that the controller may be bad and am considering replacing it before getting a new whole motor.

Any advice or experience clearing out this code?
