Found near the Toyota while working on the alternator

Basically the truck has been dying while driving or not starting. A jump might get us a couple hundred feet. Found the alternator mount bracket had broken and got that welded. The alternator is still moving when driven for longer distances so we are planning to replace the bolts which are pretty worn down and hard to get truly tight, or the whole alternator. But I also suggested replacing the battery terminals, cables, and mount since my partner just DIYed this. Is it all aesthetics or could this actually be contributing to the issues starting and staying running?

ETA 1985 Toyota Pickup 22RE and battery is brand new.
