Anyone else concerned with Bells recent firings?

I know a lot of colleagues either work half days or swipe and go so wondering if you think Rogers will do the same?

I think this could cause a lot of uproar especially since Rogers openly admitted capital cuts but curious your thoughts.

It would be a bad situation to be offered VDP to then to be terminated with no severance

What’s everyone thinking about the VDP (Voluntary Departure Program)? Are you planning to take it?
I’d suggest using a throwaway account so you don’t get identified, but I’m genuinely curious how people are feeling.

Do you think we’d qualify for EI? The FAQ makes it sound unlikely, but I’m not sure how that plays out in reality.

Also, is anyone else worried they might start letting people go based on return-to-office compliance—especially with the 5-day requirement? With the recent Bell layoffs, that’s been on my mind. That said, our internal data is such a mess that I wonder how quickly they could even enforce or track it properly.

The job market isn’t great right now, but at the same time… it’s hard to imagine it being worse than staying where things are.

Anonymous thoughts welcome—we’ve only got a few days left to decide! We will never be offered more than 4 weeks for each year — but I wonder if we’d get so desperate to offer 2-3 or even 0 if they could find a way
