SPU vs SU advice needed

Hey, I’m a highschool senior and while I’m committed to SU for bio pre-med, I recently got my commitment date offer pushed till June 1st at SPU. I’m in state, and they’re giving me a ton of money. I calculated that if I got a singles dorm, my total yearly cost of attendance would only be 28k (super affordable for my family), and I could bring my car.

However, if I went to SPU, I’d switch to nursing.
All I’ve wanted is to be a surgeon, but obviously being pre-med and majoring in bio is super risky bc of how competitive med school admissions are. If I didn’t get into med school, I couldn’t be able to do much w/bio degree.

Should I stick with SU which is 42k/year with triple dorm (I’d graduate in 3, still fine cost for parents) on the pre-med track, or should I go to SPU, graduate in 4, work as a nurse for a while, then apply for med school, or maybe NP (not sure if I’d be happy with that)? This would be way safer and stable bc of how high demand nurses are.

Another large factor for me is social life. I know SPU is super small and Christian, so that discourages me even more. However, again, I’d have my car, and I have tons of friends at UW which I could easily drive to.

Do I go the “safe” route of nursing, or do I go for it at SU? Any advice is appreciated.

Hey guys, I’m a highschool senior and am currently committed to Seattle U for bio because I got waitlisted from UW Seattle. I’m on the pre-med path and in-state. I really, really wanted to get into UW and while I’m fine with SU, the possibility of transferring from CC is just lingering in my head. I’ll graduate highschool with 45 running start credits and around 6-8 credits from my APs. Would it be doable to do 1 year at CC then transfer to UW even if I didn’t have the full 90 credits/AA? My current CC gpa is a 4.0. I’ve also heard that the science classes are much easier at SU which is really important bc med schools care about your GPA. Would it be worth it to do the CC route, or should I stick with SU? I’m just mainly disheartened by the lack of parties and way smaller campus + high cost. Any feedback/advice is appreciated!
