Good semiconductor career paths for a computer engineering major?

I'm a computer engineering student and will be hoping to get into the semiconductor field after graduation. My only industry experience so far has been a few years working as a fab operator. I know I've seen most people on this sub have appeared to be either electrical engineering, materials science, industrial, chemical, or something along those lines. Are there any good paths for a computer engineering major to break into the industry as an engineer? Does it much matter what specific engineering discipline my degree is in if they will have to train me anyways?
