How ego changes after spiritual awakening?

So I had this period where my experience was quite aligned with the definition of dark night of soul followed by spiritual awakening. During that time I read “power of now” which was both helpful and also informative.

I realized the difference between ego and our spirit, and how we can observe ourselves like a 3rd person etc but even though I am no longer interested in power, money in egotistical way (like I need money only for my needs not to prove anything etc) I still feel frustrated when I lose a competition. Is this healthy ego or didn’t I have spiritual awakening?

I saw videos of Bruce D. Perry and he says if a child experienced trauma in early ages like 0-1 years, it has the worst and biggest maybe irreversible effects on the child.

However, the repetitive traumatic events that happened to a kid between 2-5 let’s say (after birth) will have the effect of *reduced capacity on prefrontal cortex and learning at school will be harder even if that kid receives good education* Especially with the effects of chronic shame and psychological or physical abuse.

We also know that stress might cause brain fog and stress responses literally might make brain go blank, reduced thinking and hardship in learning.

How exactly stress and trauma have effects on brain and what are the solutions to it?

*THIS POST CONTAIN SPOILERS don’t read if you haven’t watched till the end *

This post is also a bit of a rant.

Before I started, all I read was “it’s a series to watch carefully” “a lot of details to remember” etc so I really watched it with my best focus, even sometime stopped the episode and made a quick summary or chronological reminders to myself with schemes on my mind from character’s motivation and key actions… like almost I was studying and making sure to capture previous events before show moves on.

I really wanted to understand not only plot but what writers trying to tell us through characters. End of s2 and some episodes in s3 was so dull. S4 suddenly paced up, adding mystery to mystery to keep in mind like a big heavy luggage hoping you’ll get rewarded but it took so damn long time. S5 is my fav so far call it a climax for sure.

Then here’s is s6. I feel just tired and exhausted and feel frustrated to keep up. I am down for the character development but it’s so confusing, such as Ben was manipulated by MIB lately, then he understood that but he still killed Widmore and now helping MIB. It’s so hard to follow some character’s motivations anymore. Richard found the cross and asked if offer still stand and started calling it hell. But then help to blow up the plane. Reading Richard and Ben at the end so confusing.

Claire was claimed, but she’s with the losties now. MIB want candidates etc dead and he was the one called them back to island to kill, and he manipulated Jack into depression so he could come back. But actually Jacob also tells him he was alone and flawed so he doesn’t miss anything if he stays on the island to protect. It’s like some character’s keep changing sides with some mind games etc. There is way too many things I am so disappointed the series pacing took so long I got tired of holding on.

And “across the sea” episode, Jacob admits it himself that MIB is his fault but all these mysteries evil vs good argument was coming from two traumatized kids??. with abusive mother who literally ruined MIB so she could die and stop protecting island. It’s been showed like “sacred duty” till now only to find out it was kind of a curse.

I love how the show changed Jack, Sawyer tho. It makes sense why Hurley was a character who could see dead people. The time travel in s5 is chef kiss. The afterlife scenes for Sayid-Shannon, Desmond are beautiful. Desmond is my fav character.

But I wish the whole series was 4-5 seasons in total so they would pack it up in similar paced seasons. There’s too many characters and they change sides with secretly being manipulated and then change sides again because they realize.

* this might contain SPOILERS*

It’s my first watch, the series was very serious, drama, mystery up until now and J. Locke was a mysterious interesting man in s1 and it started to become obsessive and annoying in s2 but oh boy… s3 J. Locke is just hilarious.

For example

• when they’re in Mikhail’s house he suddenly start playing chess and causally click on 7-7 to alert the hostiles were there and cause the house (the only possible communication to the outside world) to explode.

• the explosive he stole get caught by Sayid and he says “never know when it’ll be handy”.

• he pushes Mikhail to the sonar village security things without talking through it and then he’s very chill and says sorry after the guy dies.

• he is with Sayid and Kate seeking Jack but he is actually looking for submarine no Jake thinking at all :D

• he casually eats chicken rotisserie and checks kitchen cupboards in Ben’s house while Ben tries to convince him not to blow up submarine :D

His lines catch me so off guard this season and his character is like a joke. :D
