My 2015 Ford Expedition started making a noise when it’s turned on, like something spinning or rubbing against metal. It’s louder right after startup, then gets quieter.
I also noticed a burning smell that reminds me of cigarette smoke, and there was a thick gunky oil-looking buildup in the middle of the engine bay.
Also, the A/C stopped blowing cold, which may or may not be related.
I don’t know much about cars, so I’m trying to figure out what could be causing this before I take it in. I’m wondering if it could be the belt, pulley, compressor, or an oil leak. (Google search lead me to believe it could be these parts)
Any ideas on what to check first?
