My bf has his maritime internship this summer, meaning he’ll be on a boat for about 5 weeks at a time, with limited WiFi or service. That doesn’t bother me that much, it’s just the way he’s been talking about it is kind of messing with me. What bothers me is he said I’ll know he has service if he posts on his instagram story, and when he does get service, he probably won’t have the energy to call.
I am trying to be understanding because I know it’s not a normal situation, but it also feels like he’s lowkey preparing me to not really hear from him at all. Even when he’ll be home, he said he has other stuff to do. (We are long distance so understandable, but still)
idk it’s such a weird feeling. nothing has officially changed, but it kind of feels like a soft launch of a breakup and i don’t know if i’m overthinking it or just seeing it for what it is.
He also mentioned he wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t last the summer (no shit, not with the way you’re planning on communicating.) Apparently, these internships change the men so much, they are incompatible with their gfs when they get back. Which just sounds like a bs way to break up to me.
