It's been 37 years since the last time I got a MOTU figure.

It's been 37 years since the last time I got a MOTU figure.

On vacation at Disneyland in 1989 my parents got me the New Adventures Flipshot from a nearby store and the legs broke off soon after. Nothing since. I always admired the figures from the 2002 cartoon, especially when people repainted them, but I was busy spending my money on McFarlane and Toy Biz.

But I had to jump on the Mondo 200x figures. This guy is incredible. Great paint, articulation is mostly very good and smooth, and he looks great on the shelf. I only wish he could look up more. I can't wait for the other 3 to release and see what else they show at SDCC.

The Mondo 200x He-Man. This is the first MOTU figure I've had since the New Adventures Flipshot toy in 1989. Paint is nearly perfect, articulation mostly has great range and is smooth as butter, and the plastic feels great. Only real downside is the neck can't really look up.

Now I'm very excited for the other figures, especially Clawful and Man-at-Arms. Hopefully we see some more, like Mer-Man and Trap Jaw at SDCC.

First, I'm glad we are getting another Shadowhawk figure, but wtf is with these Elite figures? Each one is worse than the last. Just like Spawn, this is 90% reuse with just a couple newly sculpted claw hands and head, it doesn't come with more accessories than some of the collector or deluxe theatrical figures, and the arm accessories are already bending under their own weight in the promo photo, so they are made from the gummy plastic. It's ridiculous.
