I recently started selling my English N64 collection because it’s my least favorite Nintendo console with a select few of the best games ever.
Most of the best ones don’t need much reading, so I opt for Japanese in-box games because they’re very affordable.
My roommate and I noticed Banjo the Bear on the cover of Diddy Kong Racing JP cover (1st photo attached), and this would have genuinely been the first way for the general public to see the icon on a printed piece of media. No magazines, no promotions, no mention ANYWHERE until this cover shows Banjo in the background. He’s not on the American cover (3rd photo attached) and Kazooie is mentioned in the manual as a future partner(4th photo attached). Really interesting to me!
