I mean, take away Busta doing kung fu and it's not THAT bad. Campy, flawed and very much a product of its time, for sure, but not as bad as many people say it is. 🤔

And if I had to rank the entire franchise, the bottom 3 being easily filled with Ends and the Rob Zombie movies, it would make it to 10th or even 9th place. Which isn't GREAT, but still!

I feel like it's very slowly growing on me with each rewatch. And that version of Myers was good! Way better than he was in H5 or H20 imo. 🔪

H4 being considered one of the best movies in the franchise (rightfully so), it wouldn't be out of place for a studio to greenlight such a project. Unlike potential sequels following H6 or Resurrection, for instance.

Now of course Jamie wouldn't be the new female version of Myers (Halloween Ends already showed the fanbase hates when Myers is replaced), but the movie wouldn't have to retcon the H4 ending.

My idea: Myers did temporarily die from his injuries at the end of H4, transfering his evil to Jamie in the process. But Myers being Myers, his heart soon started beating again (don't forget in this timeline he survived being shot in the eyes and blown up at the end of H2), and Jamie was freed from the posession.

We would follow a grown up Jamie years later, afraid of both Myers still being on the loose - potentially coming back for her one day - and of what will happen once Myers dies. Of course Myers would eventually show up again to come after her, and Jamie would have to fight back to protect herself and the ones she loves, knowing damn well that if she manages to kill Michael, it will be her turn to be the boogeyman.

And no, H5 wouldn't be canon. So no mark of Thorn, no man in black to explain, and a still living Rachel that could return as well.

I think that would be a very interesting film. 👌

OK, let me cook for a sec:

Laurie is the one Michael sees first, yes, and she's the one that picks his interest in the first place. He follows her around, where he comes to notice Annie and Linda too.

From that point on, we know he keeps on stalking Laurie for a bit (when she sees him from her bedroom window), but I believe he also starts stalking Annie and Linda.

Actually one of the added scenes from the TV cut of the film does confirm he was stalking Linda for a bit. So to me it's obvious he was "interested" in the entire group of girls. Not just Laurie.

My point being: when night comes, Michael has made his choice: who does he follow once he gets out his car? Annie. Who does he keep on stalking until he strikes? Annie. He could have easily gone for Laurie right away but he didn't seem to give a crap about her anymore.

And! After he kills Annie, he doesn't direcly go kill anyone. Linda and Bob break into the house (disturbing Michael's "peace") and pay for it. And Laurie does the same later on and gets chased because of it. I believe all three of them would have been safe if they hadn't come to the Wallace house.

Also! Annie's body is the only one Michael "dresses up" properly, on the bed with his sister's tombstone. Linda and Bob seemed to be an afterthought.

Now, why would he be particularly interested in Annie? Who knows. Maybe her attitude reminded him of his sister, or something. But it's clearer and clearer to me everytime I rewatch the film.

Now obviously this theory goes out the window as soon as Halloween 2 get thrown into the mix...

No, I'm not subscribed to any VOD service and I don't plan to.

I can only find it in Russian without subtitles.

And I'm curious about it so I'd really like to be able to watch it in a language I understand.
