Kind of what the title mentions, looking to see some guidance/suggestions on what's fun right now for old school stuff. For context, I was at the store the other day and picked up a legendary modern deck pack for fun and got me thinking to take another look at yugioh cards again after all these years. Looking to buy some packs for fun while also making a few fun simple decks to play at home with the family share the genre.
Any recommendations on deck packs or booster pack series worth buying these days? Don't really care for todays meta and honestly I enjoyed the old school stuff when yugioh came out as opposed to all this crazy modern meta nonsense. I see a lot of mention on the retro packs that seem to have older cards types and also a lot of talk about some nice artwork stuff in I guess a rarity collection 5 series? Are there any fun box sets or decks that might also be worth looking at these days? Again this would just be for some nostalgia fun with no interest in newer meta or light play outside family etc. So just some fun seeing older packs which I noted retro packs seem good maybe? And anything fun to open pack wise like I was reading some nice artwork stuff in the rarity collections that's out these days?
Also what's the deal with other box edition sets? I see things like duelist nexus or legendary duelist on tcg that's down like 40 bucks for a booster box? Why are some priced so cheap for a whole box, just not fun to open?
Any input is appreciated on these thanks.
