I don’t know what to do
Hi there, dear postcrossing community!
There’s something that’s been on my mind for a while now, I hope someone can give me advice 🙏🏻
So a while back I registered a postcard (it was missing an ID, so it took a while). Let’s call this person A.
So person A wrote a short sentence with “Greetings from ——, be happy” a nice message 👍🏻 But then on the right side where you normally write the address (card came in an envelope) it said “Send return card”
I do have “interested in direct swaps” on, and I’ve loved swapping with people so far! But I wasn’t sure about this card, as it was so abrupt. So I kind of ignored this request, and instead wrote my Hurray message, thanking them for the postcard and kind greetings.
But now today, another envelope with a postcard arrived. It says “Hi from ———- , Person A” then the words “Direct Swap”
I feel a bit conflicted now, as I’m not really sure what to do. Should I message person A and tell them that I don’t feel comfortable doing a direct swap like this without discussing it first. Or is it wiser to ignore it?
I just feel kinda awful about it, as they’ve already send me a postcard…
I forgot to add: There’s also no language barrier, as they are a native English speaker
So this is where I’m asking people’s advice, what would you do in this situation? I really want to think that this person has good intentions, but I am a massive overthinker and I’m scared it’s some kind of scam or something. Is this actually considered normal for direct swaps? It has never happened to me like this.
