Bicycle Courier in a primarily college market: Now noticing a material decline in hourly earnings and available incentives now that most students have left for the summer

As of now, I still have Diamond Status (Requires 50% AR in my area), however I have had to be pickier recently about what orders I accept given that a greater number of them are now long-distance or far lower margin given the reduced quality of incentives (Quests and Boost+).

The fact that I have Diamond Status for now is helping to buoy my hourly rate given that I still get a decent number of orders with high tips, but when this gig really slows down for the summer, I will really need to look for a W-2 job.

During the academic year, there generally is enough order volume that I can stick to just Uber restaurant deliveries. With increased caution, I can utilize Shop & Deliver both on Uber and DoorDash multi-app.

I had a flight on Spirit Airlines for next week, that is now cancelled with a refund currently pending from the airline, so airfare wouldn’t be covered by Trip Interruption Insurance assuming that Spirit doesn’t follow through with a refund on their end.

However, will this coverage cover any expenses incurred due to a one-way rental car trip from my original origin to destination, including gas receipts and an overnight hotel stay midway (~1,200 miles)? Especially if this aggregate expense of renting a car (Including gas and a hotel) exceeds what I paid for the Spirit flight. And if the answer to any of this is yes, will the expenses need to be charged to my Robinhood Gold Visa Card, which was used to pay for both my original Spirit Flight and would be used to rent a car.
