I haven't believed for 10 years now, and I just visited the mothership, Salt Lake City
I was in Salt Lake for a wedding this weekend and went to Temple Square with my family. I still attend weekly with my wife and kids for reasons, but they and all the local members know my stance. Coming to the visitor's center and the church history museum with a fresh pair of eyes was one of the craziest eye opening experiences I've ever had.
I used to believe that:
- Reformed Egyptian was an actual, written language used by Hebrews living in America. 🇺🇸
- No one actually saw the plates who didn't have vested interest in them. They were deposited in a cave and never seen again. 💕
- My tithing money was well spent to build the City Creek Mall ❤️
- It's totally normal for church stores to have a dedicated section with fancy carpets and white clothes for sale 👨🍳
- Joseph died because he was a prophet, not because he angered everyone by marrying a bunch of women and girls and lying about it before commanding the printing press used to release the truth of his lies be destroyed by his hired mob 📚
