Long story short I discovered YN in therapy and from healthygamer 3 years ago. Mostly listened to ally boothroyd and Kristin rose. Helped solve my insomnia and get me out of my anxious funk I was stuck in. Especially helped me negate sleep deficits last year when my kid was an infant. I still do it 2-3x per week but feel like I could go deeper and that I should stop listening to recordings and guide myself more. It feels like when I do it self guided I can get into the nidra “state” faster and influence my subconscious, but also lose any awareness of time, hence the need to set a timer which jolts me out of nidra. Wish I had unlimited time but have a family and a job. Sometimes interesting stuff happens. When I have a good session, near the end I start to see green and purple rings of light moving from the outside of my eyes to the pupil, while closed obviously. If I put my palms over my eyes then I see blue honeycomb shapes that eventually fade. Does this mean I’m doing it right? Anyone else have this? My usual self guided routine is three physiological sighs, relax head/eye muscles, sankalpa 3x, rotation of consciousness, quietly enjoying the silence and introspection, repeating sankalpa 3x, 3 sighs to prepare for gradual movement, slowly move fingers and toes, eventually get up. I just wish I felt my sankalpa was taking more roots in my subconscious. Any tips appreciated.
