My husband and I are together for 15 years. We have been living in Germany for 12 years and we cannot wait to leave.
We never really intended to move here, but somehow got stuck. We really dislike the weather, the food, and never really adapted culturally - people are not the most welcoming (generally speaking). The positive is that we made a few really good friends for life, and I found a job that I can bring to wherever I move and work remotely. My husband has been having a hard time work wise, he used to have a very phisically demanding job and is struggling to change careers.
I also had a couple of very harsh years, suffering with undiagnosed mental health disorders, desperately trying to support family and friends with addiction issues, and a last year had a really hard time being the sole caregiver to my best friend who was fighting blood cancer (she is GREAT! btw <3).
We want to move to Spain where we have friends and family, have a reset mentally, reconnect as a couple and focus on our careers. We think around Málaga area is a good choice for us - close to the beach, plenty of cute small towns (we don't want big cities), but easily accessible. We also consider moving to Extremadura region, where there might be a grant for remote workers, but is not 100% sure yet. We are more inclined to south of Spain.
I attached both our maps with the areas we consider moving to, and relocation charts to Málaga. Any thoughts? I am a bit scared of the Neptune line on my map close to Málaga 🥲
