Greetings fellow sound people!
So I'm managing the AV-equipment for a school. We're primarily providing sound for concerts of the schools bands and for speech events like graduation and for that we have a fair amount of microphones (all bought without my involvement):
6x Shure Beta 57 A -> all-purpose mic for vocals and instruments in general
4x Røde NT5 -> bought as 'choir mics'
1x Lewitt Beatkit (DTP 340 -> Kick, MTP 440 -> Snare, 2x LCT 040 -> Overheads)
4x t.bone Ovid Clip-on -> brass and strings (seem like 4099 replica)
Up until last week we also had 2 Shure BLX24 handheld wireless mics that were used as general vocalmics and for moderations. These two units now both died after what I believe comes close to 15 years of service and due to financial issues the school decided to replace them with wired alternatives.
Now I'm in the responsiblity to get 2 as-versatile-as-possible wired vocal mics with a budget of about 250€ (293 $US) and I can't decide between a few options:
Shure SM58
Se Electronics V7
Sennheiser e835
What would your choices be in this situation? Is there something I completely overlooked until now?
Any help is appreciated
