I strained a muscle on the right side of my neck, and since then it’s only gotten worse.

It is usually calm when I first wake up but increases in pain throughout the day. At night (or when I lay down) it is agonising. The first week I went without meds since I assumed it would go away but after the 7th night of crying I couldn’t take it anymore and got some anti inflammatory gel.

It helps, but the pain is still there.

Since then, it has spread to my right shoulder which can affect my hand when it flares. Also, since it’s in my neck it has given me a constant migraine since. I’m going to ask for something to help with the migraines because sleep is impossible as is most daily function.

The gel has worked wonders, but pain and discomfort still remains.

I can still feel the tightness of the muscle and the cramps it’s giving me, just less intense.

This has been going on for nearly 2 weeks at this point. Does anyone else deal with this kind of fluctuating agony? No pain I have had has ever compared to this.

I get it in my neck, which also affects my right arm/hand and gives me constant migraines.

Happened after I strained a muscle in my neck and since then it has slowly spread from only the right side of my neck, to 2/3 of it and both my shoulders to my right hand.

Spent the first week free-balling it without meds since I assumed it would go away. Now on my 3rd day of a gel and it seems to calm it down but the pain and discomfort is still there. Migraines are still running rampant so I’ve gotta chase them to help with that.

That week where I had no meds was absolute agony. It was driving me genuinely crazy and doing anything was impossible.

I’m glad that it isn’t as intense as before, but it’s still affecting my daily function which sucks.

What helps you guys aside from meds?

I’ve tried heat/cold therapy, stretching and resting, now this anti inflammatory gel. Applying pressure doesn’t help either it seems.

Will this pain last forever from now on? It’s rough

I am getting one in the future and I know it is common for people with FND to use one.

I’m just curious as to how many of you guys use one!

I mainly use a crutch, I want a second one but I’m focusing on the chair for now.
