The mother of my second child originally live in a city about 30 minute away from me, I would go to pick up and drop off my kid every weekend. She decided to move to another city roughly an hour and 20 minute away and only gave me about 35 days notice. That being said in Ontario the mother is required to give me 60 days notice of a relocation. I left it all alone because she was willing to meet me in a meeting spot roughly the same distance as the previous city she lived in before. The issue is I don’t drive I need to get someone to help me get my kid and sometimes it’s not possible to get a ride or a ride in time for her strict time restraints. I brought up that I seen online that when one parent moves and creates a big distance they become responsible for travel. She argues with me that she’s not responsible to make the trip and the fact that she meets me is her being helpful. She knew I didn’t drive when we started seeing each other, she knew I didn’t drive when we found out we where pregnant , she knew I didn’t drive when she decided she no longer wanted to pursue a relationship and she knew I didn’t drive when she moved. My question is if she moved with out proper notice and it was her choice to create the distance causing issues with rides is she not the one responsible for travel. Just to be clear I still pick my kid whenever I can and every week is me messaging every possible person to help me with a ride, and offering her gas to bring her directly to me. I don’t use the lack of transportation as a way to avoid seeing my kid I tend to get really upset and frustrated when she refuses to help get her to me.
