screen not turning off after turning dgpu onlu
Hey everyone,I am having a frustrating issue with my gaming laptop's display transitions. When the system switches over to the dedicated NVIDIA GPU (dGPU), the screen successfully goes completely black (no signal/images), but the physical display panel backlight stays fully powered on and glowing. The hardware panel refuses to drop into a true "power off" or sleep state. It essentially remains trapped in a blank-but-powered limbo. What I have already checked/know:I am not completely frozen or locked out of Windows; I can blindly navigate or force a reset, but the backlight itself just ignores the panel shutdown command during the GPU handshake. It specifically happens during transitions involving the NVIDIA dGPU.Standard Windows power settings to "turn off display after X minutes" don't seem to kill the hardware backlight when it gets stuck in this state.Has anyone dealt with this specific Advanced Optimus / MUX backlight power state hang? Is there a known stable NVIDIA driver version, a specific background process conflict (like Phone Link/CrossDeviceResume), or a firmware fix that successfully forces the panel backlight to shut off properly?Any advice or scripts to force a total panel power-down when this happens would be greatly appreciated!
