I'm lying to my friend about my job, but don't want to do that.

Long story short, I made a job switch last year, and my friend warned against that move since the company is an early stage startup. Unfortunately, what he warned happened. Funding dried, the next round didn't go well, and people were let go off. I was one among them. This happened a couple of months. My friend often calls and checks on what's happening on my end. I keep saying that work's going well. I'm not able to admit about reality, since what he warned happened. I'm kind of embarrassed. How to tackle this situation? Suggestions please.

Hello Nanbargale. This is a followup to my previous post - https://www.reddit.com/r/tamilyapping/comments/1sv5cz4/how_to_deal_with_a_rude_teenage_sister/

Long story short - My relative sister is in her first year of college. We all grew up together and are pretty close. Unfortunately, my sister is behaving in an extremely rude manner to us all. She lies often, bunks college, and goes out, we have no idea where she goes. It’s all causing unwanted stress. We tried to make her understand, but no use.

Now, we’re thinking of installing a tracking app on her phone without her knowing. This is only to keep a track of her movement, and confront her if she lies. She just turned 18, and ava already, “Na 18+, I have my rights, enta kelvi ye keka koodadhu” nu pesura type. But we’ve invested a hugeee amount for her studies.

Has anyone else tried something similar? Nalaiku if at all she comes to know, it will become problematic. But, do we lose all our rights to question her since she's 18, despite having invested a huge amount :/
