I have been a vegetarian since birth (22 years).

This happened 6 days ago. I ordered veg tacos from a well known fast food joint and received non- veg tacos. Which I consumed a few bites of before realizing the error. The packaging did not have any clear indication of whether the product was veg or non-veg. It had one red tape of zomato company, which I thought was just a tape used for packaging and not to denote veg/non veg.

I sent an email to the customer care of the company on same day mentioning the situation clearly and citing all the necessary provisions. I also attached all the necessary images in the email. I gave them a deadline of 7 days and that after that I will escalate this matter to court. I still haven't gotten a formal response from them. Just a call from the branch manager who was asking me to not forward the complaint, and in exchange he will refund the order amount for me (I rejected).

What should be my course of action going forward.
