2013 Ford Edge Limited - worth it?

I’m looking to buy my first car and I could do with a second set (or many sets) of ears to weigh in on whether this is a good deal or not.

A little background - I’m really planning on purchasing this car for the summer and re-selling it within 6 months, so I’d likely be driving it for <7k kilometres (I’m in Canada). I have a budget of $7,500 all-in.

The car is a 2013 Ford Edge Limited. 171k kms. $6,500 CAD + tax (~$7,280 CAD all-in). Looks well-maintained based on service records and carfax is clean. I’ll be taking it in for a pre-purchase inspection.

I’ve been reading up on this car and I see one of the primary causes for concern is the water pump, being a costly repair, which CAN need replacing as early as 100k miles (160k kilometres).

My fear is that I purchase this vehicle and wind up needing to spend a couple thousand on the water pump before selling.

Thoughts? This feels like a great deal given the current used car market and the (relatively) low kms compared to the other vehicles on the market.

How much of a risk is the water pump (or other things)? Am I overthinking? Anything in particular I should be asking the mechanic?

Thanks everyone.

EDIT: Thanks, everyone, for your advice and recommendations. I learned more about receivers and preamps in an hour here than all I knew before combined.

Set-Up
Record Player: Toshiba SR-250
Speakers: Edifier R1700BTs
Pre-Amp: Pyle PP555

When I connect my record player RCAs and the Speaker RCAs to the Pre-Amp, this recurring popping noise happens.

Grounding wire has been connected on both the player and the pre-amp. All three devices are plugged into the same power bar (although the popping noise still happens when they’re plugged into different sources).

Note that the noise only happens when BOTH are plugged into the pre-amp.

Any ideas? All suggestions welcome. I’m incredibly new to this all so if I’m making a beginner’s set-up/implementation mistake, please let me know!!
