So i committed to TAMU a few weeks ago and I almost have everything set up housing wise and new student stuff. But earlier today I was informed I got off the Purdue waitlist. So i’ve been trying to say the pros and cons and figured this is the best way to get info. Engineering major shooting for electrical engineering btw.
Tamu Pros:
Cheaper cost (in state)
Pretty Much done setting up
Vastly better alumni network
Better culture imo
Better college town
Better football
Better location for jobs (texas is very strong for job opportunities)
My gf is like an hour away (this shouldn’t really be a factor but I can’t lie it makes it harder)
I have aid (I can’t check if i have purdue aid unless i commit but I probably don’t)
Purdue Pros
Better education
It’s not hot as balls up there
More prestigious
Better basketball
ik education is like the main thing but tamu has so many other pros that it’s hard to ignore. I’ll admit i haven’t done a very deep dive into purdue but it’s not like i haven’t done any research at all.
