Why do I feel so awkward doing pilates with a male instructor? My studio recently added him to many 1.5 classes, and I took one today not knowing if he was man or woman based off his name (he’s foreign). I’m not bothered by men participating in pilates classes. I’m more bothered by a male instructor deciding to teach a female dominating type of class. I’ve had a personal trainer who was a guy, but to be honest I feel pilates is composed of much more vulnerable positions and techniques.
I’m just trying to vent and see if anyone agrees. It somewhat gave me the ick.
