Good morning,
So I'm looking at a 2023 RF GT and I'm having trouble deciding whether I want it or not. I was hoping you all would weigh in
**The car:**
2023 RF GT
17k miles
$28k
**The good**
Low miles
Good price
Mazda CPO (Bumper to bumper for 12 months/12k miles, plus 4 years and 82k miles left on the powertrain warranty)
Looks good (1 or 2 small paint chips, slight curb rash on 2 wheels. Looks like 1 incident, not repeated abuse/neglect)
Single owner
Great service history
**The Bad**
I don't love the RF. I have had 3 NAs and love the soft top, but I do a lot of highway driving, and I do not own a garage. I will likely drive this almost year round. I also wish the seat reclined a little more. But I think the RF is the smart choice
Small imperfections like paint chips (one on hood, one on hard top. Both under pea sized). I also have to remind myself that while a 2023 feels new to me, it's 4 years old now and I can't expect 0 flaws
Slight curb rash
There was a slight noise from the back right brakes, but it's been sitting for a while and the rotors were rusty. They also assured me they'd check it out again. Everything looks solid from what I checked out
The dealership sort of bugged me, but that's a petty reason not to buy it
It drove great, the shifter is incredible, the power felt fantastic coming from an NA6 and a 4 cylinder Tacoma. Am I being silly for wanting love at first sight? It made me happy and frankly the low miles, history, and warranty are so enticing. Do I get it, and sell later if I don't love it?
The only competitor is a '20 GT soft top, with 63k miles for $22k. But it's a small dealership with poor hours, 3 hours away and test driving will be incredibly difficult. And the lack of warranty, though the savings really offset that.
What do you all suggest? Thanks everyone!
**tl;dr**
2023 RF GT
17k miles
$28k
Great warranty (12k miles 12 month bumper to bumper, 83k miles and 4 years powertrain)
Great history
Minor complaints like small rock chips and small curb rash
Dealership irked me a little
I didn't fall in love at first sight, but I did really enjoy it and I would be happy driving it
