Batch #2: Celebi and the Johto Beasts!

Hey everyone!

Back with my second batch!

I finally dialed in the 100% scaling on my Canon TS9520a so these are actually the right size now.

I’m working on a Johto/Psychic theme for my VaultX 4x3 binder, trying to match some of the heavy hitters in my collection like my SI Mew and Neo Typhlosion.

The lineup:

Crystal Celebi (E-Reader borders are so satisfying)

Alt Art Suicune V [Dark Indigo]

"Unown" Entei [mofinngram]

Giratina [cchan_tuka](wanted to see how dark I could get the ink)

Still using the same method: acetoned modern cosmos holos, transparency film, 3M spray, and white acrylic markers for the backing.

The real question I have for everyone is how you’re getting so precise/crisp with the bordering and sharp straight lines throughout? Mine are definitely an improvement over batch #1, but some of the stuff I see on here looks straight-up factory made. What’s the secret sauce for those razor-sharp edges and text?

Let me know what you think of the progress!

E-Reader Mew and "DX" Dragonite using Transparency Method!

Hey everyone! Long-time lurker, first-time creator here. I finally took the plunge and started my "Michi Method" binder journey. These are my first two attempts at making custom cards.

The Process:

Printer: Canon PIXMA TS9520a (using High Quality / Glossy Photo settings).

Technique: Stripped modern Cosmos Holos using 100% Acetone.

Printing: Inkjet Transparency Film (mirrored the image).

The "Pop": Used a white acrylic marker on the back of the transparency film to make the Pokémon opaque so the holo only hits the background.

Adhesive: 3M Spray Adhesive to bond the film to the card.

Finishing: Evteck Paper Trimmer and the Kadomaru PRO NEO (3mm "S" setting) for the corners.

What I Learned:

I definitely messed up the scaling on the Dragonite (it's a little "Mini-DX" lol). Still trying to dial in the exact print dimensions in my software.

The white marker is a game-changer but tricky to get perfectly smooth.

Seeking Advice:

How do you guys ensure 100% accurate scaling when printing from a Mac/PC?

Any tips for getting a more "even" white layer behind the Pokémon?

Would love to hear your thoughts or any tips for attempt #3!
