I (33F) recently had someone I’ve been seeing (41M) drive me to the airport. On the way, we narrowly escaped three accidents: in one case, he got distracted and made a very sudden stop on a red light as another car was crossing, in another he cut another car off to enter New York’s FDR Drive and in the third he got road rage and swerved to overtake a car on the drive.

The last incident was by far the worst because when a truck came up so close behind us and honked while he swerved back into our original lane, I felt several seconds of fear for my life: something I had been lucky enough to never experience before. I have only been on short car trips within Manhattan that were generally uneventful with this man before and so was pretty surprised to see this side of him come out.

I was wondering if that is enough to call future dates off since he was doing me a favor and this might be a one-time blip. I also do not drive personally so don’t know if I’m overreacting.

TLDR: A man I’ve been seeing got bad road rage and nearly got us into several accidents on the drive to the airport.
