I’ve lived in my one bedroom apartment (or flat for us common folk) for around 10 years and have been suffering issues with Serratia Marcescens and black mould. Recently I realised that white mould had also become a problem, I usually expect mould to form on fruit and veg in the fridge but it had been growing in my empty plastic food containers kept in the cupboard near my plates etc. I bought a dehumidifier last week, emptied it on the weekend and went staying with my family for 3 days. I’ve come back to the dehumidifier full (turns itself off) and the humidity at around 73%, emptied it and set it going again. So, question. Is there anything else I should be doing? The heating is always set between 16 (lowest) and 20 degrees depending how cold I am (I feel colder when I’m ill which is pretty often recently). I’m based near the sea on the Northwest coast (Blackpool) if that means anything. Any help is appreciated as I constantly have to use bleach or mould remover to keep on top of the pink and black mould, and now I have a new mould to contend with (albeit white which I always thought was relatively safe).
