I want to set up a VPN on my router so every device in my house gets protected. I have an ASUS router and it supports both OpenVPN and WireGuard. From what I've read NordVPN ExpressVPN and Surfshark all work on routers and ExpressVPN even sells routers that come with VPN already set up.

Speed matters a lot because routers have weak processors and VPN slows things down even more. For people running VPN on their routers which provider actually performs best? Is WireGuard faster than OpenVPN on routers? Are some router brands better for VPN than others?
