Those in early 30s: Did you turn down gatherings and meet ups with people who you used to be very close with?

After turning 30 years old, I just kind of did not want to partake in large social gatherings.

Don't flame me yeah, I am also trying to understand why am I feeling this way.

I just find conversations shallow, friends (supposedly friends) talking about marriage, work, big item purchases or even recent travels, while all I really am looking at are genuine conversations about how to embrace life with more positivity. Instead of ramblings, I really like having conversations about learning to appreciate the small wonderful things in life amidst the chaos.

I just suddenly realised I ain't close to many of my friends anymore. And I increasingly find opening questions like "how's life" being hypocritical and how they are fillers trying to avoid awkward silence moments.

I also find myself enjoying the serenity, away from big groups. Joining hiking groups made me calm, as I hiked up steep slopes and endless flight of steps.

Compared to gatherings where drinkings or feastings as part of gatherings, I just kinda find hiking and running more worthwhile.

Anyone felt the same?
