I recently bought a faulty first gen PS5 that can only play PS4 games, but throws up the error CE-10825-1.
I've opened it up, cleaned all the dust out, added in new liquid metal, tried every safe mode fix, all resolutions, unplugged Ethernet cable, played offline, etc. to no avail. The system either gets 30 mins before a crash or an hour.
Whenever the crash happens, the game just freezes and returns to the menu. No overheating message or black screen. The console stays on, it doesn't restart.
Does anyone know of a way to isolate what the issue may be, I'd love to figure out a way to test if it's a faulty GPU or SSD controller issue so I could move on to another fix.
Or does the fact that it can play PS4 games perfectly clearly point to a GPU issue?
And suggestions would be appreciated!
