Old 80’s movie with fake aliens
Went down an AI hole trying to find a movie. My fuzzy memory is a family movie from the 80’s that features a family in distress somehow from a rich business person or movie exec. Some movie director or producer helps the family by convincing the business man aliens are real and the family is protected by the aliens.
The only two scenes I distinctly remember are a fake alien ship with the business man in it with the aliens. The ship is actually on a flat bed semi being rocked by special effects people to make the ride seem real.
And a scene towards the end in a courtroom where the business man drops his case against the family because the little boy is seen wearing a medallion that links the boy to the aliens.
AI seemed to think it was a made for tv movie or something else smaller scale because it couldn’t identify it but that the story definitely fit family movie tropes of the time.
