I’m applying to college next year but I’m an H4 dependent. My family has been in the process of getting a green card but definitely won’t be able to get it by the time I apply or start college. I’m worried that my status will affect the admission process because I’m not a citizen or green card holder. I’ve lived in the US since third grade and have attended middle and high school in my state. I’ve been so anxious because I’m not an extraordinarily strong applicant like I’m not publishing research papers or founding nonprofits etc etc. I go to an IB school and everyone here is very academically competitive and all of my friends are doing as much as I am or more. I’m so average and now with my visa situation I’m so scared that I would be in the international pool during admissions and there’s no way I can compete with these international kids. I feel so alone in this like I’ve tried to research this but I couldn’t find any definitive answers and they all say different things, it’s just discouraging knowing that I have gotten the same education as my friends and have had similar opportunities but that my legal status will affect me negatively. Anyone who has insight or similar experiences plsplspls help me out
