Hello im new to playing but a longtime fan to watching VGC. Im trying to get ahead of the curve and get a hold of potential staple pokemon for later formats. I know some of the more recent top choices like Urshifu, Calyrex, Raging Bolt, Miraidon and Zamazenta. What are some historically strong and viable pokemon I should start hunting for now to have in my box for later formats if they are brought out.

Specifically thinking of harder to hunt pokemon since I assume it may be a while before some of them find their way into champions.
