I need an additional class for the Fall 2026 semester, as I only have 10 of the 12 required credit hours to keep my scholarship. Problem is is that I'm bottlenecked by both Physics 2 and Statics, which prevent me from taking additional classes relevant to my major (mechanical engineering.) I'm also doing a math minor, which I will have most of the requirements done by the end of summer, except for a 3-4000 elective. However, most of these require Logic and Proof in Mathematics, which I am also taking in the fall. I'd like to take Real Analysis in the Spring, since it's something that interests me, but this of course requires logic and proof in mathematics. In addition to this, I have completed enough gen ed classes. This leaves me in a bit of an awkward place, as I have essentially a free opportunity to study whatever I want. Obviously I could pick something random or something that interests me personally but are there any other classes I could take that would complement my degree more? Thanks.

I'm a mechanical engineering major with a math minor looking to take summer classes. As of now, I can't take anymore engineering classes until I finish my physics 1 lab, which I was unable to get on my schedule for this past spring semester. Does anyone have experience taking both differential equations and matrix and linear algebra at the same time? From what I've heard, there's a bit of cohesion between the two subjects, so taking them at the same time can be beneficial. However, while some say both classes are fairly easy (easier than calc 2), others say they are more difficult and the first math classes they struggled with. So far I've taken calc 2 and 3 here and they were both pretty easy and didn't require a ton of time outside of class, so hopefully I can handle these. If it doesn't seem like too much, I'll probably add an additional gen ed class to get it over with. Thanks.
Trying to get these back, I landed 1 a couple years ago
I just found out I'm gonna get a B in physics 1 with calculus because I didn't go to class and participate in the I clicker questions. I don't see the point of going because I can do fine without being at the lectures and I do well on all the exams. Attendance shouldn't hurt my grade just because I know the stuff well enough to not have to drive all the way to campus for a 50 minute class. Same thing with recitation, genuinely why do i have to go to campus again just to check a box on a sheet of paper so my grade doesn't get tanked any further. As much as I dislike my materials science class, the grading policy seems much more reasonable. Wish more classes were like that, where the grade depends only on exams and a few homework assignments.
