Hey everyone,

I’ve been accepted into three programs and I’m trying to decide which one makes more sense for my situation:

  • BCIT CST diploma (Vancouver)
  • Northeastern University – MS in Data Analytics Engineering (Vancouver)
  • Northeastern University – MS in Computer Science (Seattle)

Background: I have ~5 years of experience as a Lead Software Engineer at NTT Data in Mexico, and I already hold a bachelor’s degree.

My main goals are:

  • upgrade my career (not start over)
  • get international work experience (Canada or US)
  • ideally move into bigger tech companies

I’m trying to understand:

  • which option would actually leverage my experience the best
  • how realistic it is to get a job after each program (especially in the current market)
  • how valuable the co-op/internship opportunities are in each case

If anyone has gone through BCIT CST or Northeastern (Vancouver or Seattle), I’d really appreciate your honest thoughts—especially if you had prior experience before studying.

Thanks in advance 🙏
