Physicians Mutual vs Lemonade?

I recently adopted a pup, he's about 4 and a chi mix. I adopted him privately and he didn't come with any records. I took him to a low cost vet and got him vaccines and an exam. He's healthy, aside from some teeth issues - a tooth on either side is misformed and just those teeth have some tartar. I assume this means they won't cover any dental issues.

I'm most interested in Physicians Mutual and Lemonade, as the others are very expensive. I've heard good things about Trupanion but it's $100/mo more than Lemonade.

Lemonade: 50k reimbursement, 90% coverage, $100 deductible + exam fee addon is $28/mo

Physicians Mutual: Unlimited reimbursement, 100% coverage, $250 deductible is $50/mo

PM offers some wellness care, but they don't mention how much or what. My pup needs labs and heartworm test, but I'm waiting until after the waiting period to take him back for those.

I like that PM isn't publicly traded or private equity. I dislike that Lemonade uses AI for so much. I'm unsure if the price difference is worth it.

Thoughts?

Thank you!
