Hey everyone,
I'm in a really frustrating situation and could use some advice.
I'm an Indian national who did my 10th and 12th from India but completed my Bachelor's from Nepal. I applied for a German student visa for a Master's program through the Bengaluru VFS.
Around a year ago I emailed the Consulate asking if APS was required in my case. They replied in writing saying "No APS required in your case."
Now here's where it gets messy. When I booked my VFS appointment I selected the category "Studies with admission letter – who do not require APS." On the appointment day, VFS staff told me the correct category should be "CSP – Studies without APS " and assured me they'd change it. I trusted them and submitted my biometrics and left.
Later after few days when I checked my VFS receipt I noticed the category was changed to "CSP – with APS certificate". At that time, I didn't cared much thinking it should not matter.
Fast forward to now, my visa got rejected citing APS not submitted. I genuinely think the wrong VFS category is what caused this. I've already written to the Consulate about this but haven't heard back yet.
Has anyone dealt with something like this, wrong VFS category or a similar APS confusion? What would you do next? Should I reapply directly under the correct category? Any advice is really appreciated 🙏
