Hey everyone, I know this may be slightly outside the usual dermatology scope, but I haven’t gotten many responses elsewhere and wanted some opinions.
I’ve had this round sore/ulcer on my lower gum for about 10–12 days now. It’s located under one of my lower front teeth. It started as a painful white spot with a red border and would sting badly when eating certain foods
Now it hurts less overall, but it still looks pretty similar. It’s flat rather than raised, and it doesn’t feel fluid-filled or swollen underneath. No fever, facial swelling, pus, or significant tooth pain.
I’ve been doing saltwater rinses and occasionally using Orajel. Acidic foods (especially salad dressing/vinegar) make it sting a lot.
Does this still seem consistent with a canker sore/aphthous ulcer or irritation ulcer, or is there anything else I should consider?
The photos are included are taken throughout the 10 days. I’ve had it with the left being the most recent.
I would really really appreciate any insight
