Hi all - appreciate any advice / experience with this.
My situation - divorce finalised end September 2025. After no contact from ex regarding the use of Amica to finalise financial settlement, retained a solicitor to assist.
Am I correct in understanding that we have 12 months from that date to commence settlement proceedings? If so, how long does the process normally take in entirety (hopefully not "how long is a piece of string"). If not, where have I misunderstood things?
The division of assets I have requested is simple - a 50/50 split of the family house. I'm not seeking any of their significantly higher super (I was a SAHP for many years), nor asking them to take on any of my debt. We both have ongoing health issues which may potentially affect future earnings. I am in a new relationship, they are not.
Any help would be appreciated. This process is horrible.
