Hello,
I'm not totally sure if this is the right place, but I figured it may be a start.
For a brief background I graduated two years ago with honors from NYU I was a fine art major with a minor in Business, Entertainment, Media, and Technology. I've always been into psychology and the idea of becoming a therapist or psychiatrist; I actually applied to medical schools out of high school mostly but ended up getting a really amazing scholarship from NYU to pursue art. After a sort of 'coming to Jesus moment,' I'm realizing that being a therapist / psychologist feels more like it aligns with my values, interests, the kind of career I want to have, etc. I'm currently being screened for a volunteer position at a suicide hotline as well, just for some more context.
I've looked into post-bacc programs, but I wanted to know if anyone had a similar experience of a career switch, and what my next options might be / steps to be taken in order to pursue this path instead. Even if this is the wrong subreddit, if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be beyond appreciated.
Thank you very much for your help!
