Where should we stay for easy access to a good neighborhood and the Convention Center?

Looking ahead to next April my family will be spending several days at the Convention Center for Star Wars Celebration. Might make a longer week of it depending on other factors, but we're looking for a spot convenient to Metro and where we can get decent meals after a long day. So far the "official" ticketing and hotels have been a hotmess, so I'm trying to avoid them with minimal fuss. Only other thing we will definitely be doing in that timeframe is going to the Lucas Museum. Hotel or Airbnb is fine, though I honestly prefer hotels 90% of the time. ChatGPT (I know... but it was 3am and I wanted an answer) suggested Pasadena or Koreatown, but I trust randos from Reddit more than AI!
