Cute gesture or too much?

TL;DR I sent a guy I’m talking to $10 for coffee for his super busy, sleep deprived weekend. Was it a cute gesture or a little too much? How would you react if that happened to you?

I (23F) matched with a guy (24M) on Bumble Monday. We planned a date for next Saturday, which I’m really looking forward to. We’ve been texting and plying iMessage games all throughout the week. We have a lot in common and I’m hopeful that this could turn into a meaningful relationship (I know it could not work out and I’m totally fine with that). He asks meaningful questions, keeps the conversations flowing, and remembers little details. It sort of feels like we’re already good friends, which is exactly what I’m looking for in a relationship.

Yesterday, because of a missed flight connection, he had a VERY long layover. We texted for most of it and had some great conversations about whatever random topic came up naturally. He was up super early, and up super late because of the layover, and he has a super packed weekend. I sent him $10 through Apple Pay today and told him I thought he could use the caffeine and to have a great weekend. I told him before he left that it might go without saying but there’s no pressure to text since he’ll be busy with his family.

The problem is I’m second guessing sending him the money. I don’t want it to come across as too intense. I just thought it would be a nice thing to do, but I’m worried that it might send the wrong message.

Fellas, am I just overthinking this? How would you react if a girl did that for you?
